About Patrick Patrascu Born in Forbach (France) of a Romanian father and an German mother, he has been painting since he was 8 years old. Strange, dreamlike, mystical, these could be the qualifiers given to the painting of Patrick PATRASCU, invitation to a distant journey in an imaginary limitless. In paraphrasing Baudelaire, it is not vain to say that here everything is only freedom and beauty, dream, calm and pleasure. It is the work of a poet in question, a work written with brushes and color. The writing is rich and plunges us into this whirlwind of the spirit that takes us, even for a moment, in an unknown universe and in an endless wanderings. Imaginary landscapes, enigmatic characters, intimate or mysterious scenes are all subjects that constitute the painter's work and give it its timeless character. The color and the light flood the canvases with an unusual force served by a hot and rich palette, an incisive and almost invisible line. The painting then becomes, like poetry, the language of the soul and the artist the smuggler of authentic messages. The evanescence of the characters gives not only its lightness and mystery to the work but also strength to an expression rich in symbols. CHAGALL is not very far. In the eyes and the aesthetic is then added another quest, another questioning, know what could lead the painter in this vision of human nature and the world that remains above all full of hope and humanity. It remains only to look, to contemplate, to decipher a painting that speaks but does not say everything. It is in this part of mystery that invites us the artist who, perhaps, does not know himself what indescribable strength the guide ... In reality, it is useless to try to express by language, by adjectives, what Patrick PATRASCU expresses by his painting. He is a poet who paints, he is a painter who becomes a poet. You have to read his painting and try to follow him on his own journey. Art therefore takes all its meaning and helps to awaken ours.
