The Golden Brush Gallery presents the artist Yu.V. Gusev. The artist Gusev Yuri Viktorovich was born in Moscow in 1928. Yuri Viktorovich is rightfully called a Moscow painter: he literally grew up among the colors of the capital's factory "Red Artist", whose chief engineer was his father Viktor Nikolaevich, who was friends with famous artists of the early XX century. Perhaps this also played a role in the formation of the painter: Gusev's paintings are distinguished by a rich impressionistic palette. Yuri Viktorovich preferred the traditions of French and Russian Impressionists: Sisley, Monet, Korovin, Gerasimov with their full-scale sketch work and love for painting series made from one place in different states of nature and at different times of the day. His favorite time of the year was early spring, when there is no greenery yet, and the air is clean and filled with warmth. The priority for the artist was the color and pasty texture of the painting layer, when the brush stroke turns into a living color on the canvas, and the work itself becomes a window into the world, through the frame of which the viewer sees a landscape saturated with light and vibrating air. FROM THE MEMOIRS OF YURI VIKTOROVICH:-"From early childhood I became addicted to painting, as I constantly saw my father spending all his free time at an easel. We lived on the territory of the Red Artist factory, there were paints and smells of turpentine, gasoline, etc. all around.."
