Jacqueline Kasemier paints in the tradition of the northern realists and has an extensive range of subjects. A large part of the last work is devoted to the subject of “water”, such as ponds, and canals around guards and farms in Groningen. She is fascinated by the layering that is visible through reflection, transparency and worlds in and on the water; framed by clean lines that form an exciting contrast. The boundary between viewer and image dissolves and as a viewer you are absorbed into a deeply moving world.
