This is among my most successful early watercolor pieces. It's design suggests a window looking out across an abstract colorfield, with a dry and earthy palatte, inspired by the Texas summer. The shape of the work, a block of color surrounded by stark empty white space is inspired by Donald Judd's concrete works in the desert of Marfa, TX.
