About The Artwork

'Landmark' is inspired by The Buachaille Etive Mòr, a mountain at the head of the Glen Etive in the highlands of Scotland. It is one the most loved of all the munro peaks, majestically standing at 3,350ft at the entrance to Glen Coe. The painting is oil on wood(light), unframed, and captures the dramatic scottish landscape from first hand experience against an imagined sky. It combines the fundamental elements of Selena's stand out style which blurs the boundaries between reality, memory and the imagined. It was painted as part of her "Local Heroes" exhibition, which saw Selena travel back to her roots in the Scottish highlands to complete a new body of work.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

'I'm interested in blurring the boundaries between reality, memory and the imagined. My current work hovers between representation and abstraction. I start by using very runny translucent paint that is dribbled, pushed around and left to pool and from this abstract almost instinctive chaos, I introduce form and structure.' I am a Scottish painter born in the highlands who is currently living and working from central Germany. I lived in the northwest county of Donegal in Ireland as a professional artist from 2010-2015, where I was Irelands Portrait Artist of the Year in 2013. Previously I lectured and taught Drawing & Painting at Dundee University's Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Scotland from 2004 until 2010. All paintings unless stated otherwise are Oil on wood.
