Nothing on the horizon Nothing that maters to me Nothing at all I'll paint and I'll paint whenever I want.. and whatever I like No one dictates a style, nor should understands my work Today I was happy.. today I was allowed..today I painted. Today she liked my work. She said I'm the best. Today, I'm handsome She said, how can you paint like that Now, I feel better, now I'm smart, now I'm good.. Now, I know, I can leave them all..Now they can keep what I left behind Khalid's statement: For me, creativity is a derivative of mood and ambience of painting sessions. I believe that, the character of a painting reflects the mood of the artist through brush strokes, texture and color. I believe a painting has a life of its own that evolves during painting session. For me, a painting starts to take direction after I cover the canvas with paint. Then I start to solve many problems the painting has, until I end up with a painting that tells a story or delivers a statement. As a matter of fact, I love to take the painting to the limit. I prefer to go through all the emotional stages while painting, starting from "I like this work" to "oh what have I done, I should've stoped". Until, I reach a point of satisfaction that's best described by "look at what I've done. I'm really good". I consider the art of painting as the fastest way to record an artistic idea or to document a situation experienced by the artist as result of being in a given emotional state.
