While hiking in the Lost Maples State Park, Anastasia came across this landscape and immediately knew that it will be the subject of her debut painting. This tree had the appearance of burning, especially when juxtapositioned against the greenery. This painting was created in May 2022, during a very upsetting time for the artist: Roe vs. Wade was on the verge of being overturned, Environmental Scientists were protesting the lack of action from the government, Wynn Bruce even set himself on fire due to lack of attention from the media and the public on the environmental protests. Anastasia wanted to capture her anger and frustration over powerlessness of this period. This painting is a critique on our society: the viewer can't help but admire the beauty of the painting, while main object is imploding.

Colorful Emotions and Bold Strokes: Anastasia's work dances on the edge of emotion. Initially drawn to art to cope with her mental health and transform her distressing episodes into beauty, her paintings come alive with vibrant, bold, aggressive strokes. She employs vivid colors and schemes to create vibrant landscapes filled with intricate detail. Texture and Movement: Very drawn to dimension and it's use to keep the viewer's eye moving throughout the piece, Anastasia's signature style uses impasto to accentuate specific elements of her paintings, adding depth. Recently, she has been experimenting with adding an element of velvety softness and other texturing techniques to parts of her paintings to add to the dramatic effect
