ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A painting of the Lots Road Power Station in Chelsea, West London, before its redevelopment. Painted from life from Battersea on the south bank of the river Thames. I was inspired by the industrial heritage and architecture, still in its original state just before being redeveloped into luxury flats. This power station once supplied the energy to run art if the London Underground railway

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Nicholas Power is a figurative artist, based in the Hampshire countryside. Inspired by nature, his portraits and landscapes are grounded upon careful observation and design, but with a broad impressionist focus and vibrant sense of life. Strong contrasts of lights and dark, and rich colouring, give a subtle blend of tradition and the present day. I take constant inspiration from the work of the American impressionist artist Dennis Miller Bunker, whilst the two individual paintings I return to most often are both by Rembrandt, Self Portrait at the Age of 34, and A Bearded Man in a Cap, which hang in The National Gallery, London.
