About The Artwork

In the field of primatology Dian Fossey, Jane Goodall and Biruté Galdikas became the most famous researchers. They were encouraged and supported by the British archeologist and naturalist Louis Leakey, who was famous for discovering fossils of early humans in Africa. In order to prove Darwin's hypothesis about human evolutionary development, he motivated the three women to field studies on the behaviour of apes. They worked with passion, devoted their lives to primatology. Dian Fossey (1932-1985) observed gorillas in the Virunga Mountains in Ruanda, Jane Goodall (*1934) studied chimpanzee culture in the Gombe Stream Park in Tansania, and Biruté Galdikas (*1946) elaborated field studies of orang outangs in the jungle of Borneo. The three female researchers are known by their books, features and films. they struggled for the protection of their species of ape from abuse by companies of the tourist industry. Dian Fossey , who had great empathy with her gorillas and who destroyed traps, was murdered in her jungle camp. Dame Jane Goodall achieved important prizes and awards, she taught at Stanford University, California and at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tansania. Biruté Galdikas is still active in her research camp and as a professor at the Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada and at the Universitas Nasional in Jacarta, Java, Indonesia.

Painter and performance artist. Long time ago I absolved the Staatliche Hochschule fuer Bildende Kuenste Hamburg. MAMU derives from the abbreviation for Malende Mutter. After having left his studies in Vienna with a bachelor of economics and film my son Niels is living with his great love Trin Liz in Stockholm. My daughter Mira Xenia had got a stipendium for arthistory and history at Princeton and at Harvard University, and she graduated at Harvard. At the present time she is living with her husband Paul Schwerda at Edinburgh. When I was young I went alone to the Ivory Coast in Africa. The musician El Maistro Laba Sosseh, Superstar de Dacar, travelled with me along the African States. The African spirit inspired my painting style. I produced a painting installation: In the name of the law. I thougt about tribal judges doing their ceremonial in the African forest and about our European institutions in the name of the law and about church ceremonials. This is all the same. You have to believe in it or you do not believe in it. Caused by the way of life of my husband the bibliosoph and bookculterer Guenther Rossipaul I have been in court again and again. Several times I had to pay our debts with my paintings. --- In July 18th my husband left this world. www.mamu-kunst.de mamuart@web.de MAMU Read more on my websites www.mamu-kunst.de http://creative.arte.tv/users/MAMU/
