About The Artwork

The first idea to paint this theme was because I was introducing a vanitas in the contemporary era, but after doing so I really understood why my subconscious conveyed that image to me, besides having a certain irony, macdonals has always been a controversial symbol of food represented throughout fast food, despite today its efforts and demands from consumers, have changed this reality to reduce fat and present healthier options, but when I was little, hamburgers were actually more fatty and caloric, besides thinking that it would work aesthetically, I understood why it was going from an emotionally troubled state "the artist really has to suffer" and I ended up taking refuge in food to cover my emotional hole, it could be alcohol it could be sex but it's a compulsion to eat.... hence the strength of the painting and the fact that by skipping all my projects I was at least painting food and not eating it :) and I didn't have the patience to wait to take the reference photo and ate half the potatoes :) nothing against macdonalds
