About The Artwork
I have a passion for history. This piece depicts prehistoric times. It came from a book I read, "The Clan of The Cave Bear" by Jean M Auel. The time frame is the end of the ice age. Originally there was a mammoth drinking from the fountain however like I always say, it's not always up to me, it is a merger between the canvas and myself so eventually I had to let the mammoth go. However I kept the name of the painting "Mammoth" I always paint in oil on canvas, because of the depths and clarity oil paint can provide.
