ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Last year I´ve been in Chefchaouen, the blue village of Morocco for painting and giving lessons. I met this beggar several times and was impressed by his tranquile and relaxed behaviour. This face full of stories, marked through experiences, interesting and beautiful. I started controled and with details, but the shadow on his face and the coat I literally threw the colour on in a very risky way to achieve something brushstrokes cannot.

I am born in Augsburg, Germany. After finishing school I entered the German Air Force and passed Navigators Flying School at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, California. I flew on Tornados at Lechfeld Air Base, Germany near my home town until end of 1993. I had started to paint in 1986 and after a few years I decided to become an artist, so I canceled my contract. Later on I moved to Spain where I reside now in the beautiful village Frigiliana. You can visit me there at my watercolour studio in the old part of the village. So far I am looking back on more than 20 years being an profesional artist, experienced tutor and author of three books about watercolour. At the moment I am working on the next book about how I paint my watercolours.
