Mars Rising is an assembled, encaustic wax combination piece fueled but an imaginative view of life on Mars. Computer circuit boards and parts are gradually sinking into the red sand of a Mars style sandstorm.
I used real computer boards as well as photocopied paper copies of circuit boards attached to a wood panel, painted with encaustic wax and I also used some rusted pieces of metal for the 'mountains'
The wood panel base is 16 high by 20 wide, wired and ready to hang. Some of the circuit board pieces extend off the edges of the board a bit on the top and right hand side.

The Translucent nature of encaustic wax completed my journey back to my artistic soul. The fire of the torch used to fuse the layers, fires my spirit and my imagination. Translucence also applies to cold wax and glass mosaics in my studio these days also.
