Today, after 94 years, still reappearing their "sticks" and structures, such as eerie always return to awaken the memory and imagination ...

Teresa Cabo’s impassioned oil paintings are dark in color but lively in dynamic and emotion. Cabo paints with an eye on narrative and the element of surprise. She is an observant portraitist, with a knack for capturing a subject in a moment at once contemplative and dramatic. Her broader subject matter, however, often falls between stylized and outright symbolist imagery, with flashes of light and swirls of color standing in for events and bursts of energy. Cabo questions the visible and the material. Her work in the fields of biodiversity and ecology also deepens her exploration of the natural world through the medium of paint. Cabo was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. She paints with brushes and spatulas, as well as working with mixed, recycled media.
