"Metamorphosis" Painting

Born the 28.11.1948 in Chemnitz/GermanyBrigitte Wagler is German living in Paris since 1973.When she draws, what she sees is not the exterior world but the mind's image.The eye as a camera is exact. The mind's eye examins the soul. Her thoughts follows Gilles Deleuze, her art speaks of her memorys. It is a recovery of her person an archeology site strewn with symbols and signs.She resists language in favor of a visual expression. Her art is not an intellectual search for significiance. Nor is it bound by normal photographic forms.Brigitte Wagler transforms. The familiar is captured by iconique signs. She shows sensivity and understanding through forms and colors, not of external shape but inner expression. Transformation of proportions, competition between full and empty, produce disturbing reactions.The result is an imaginary language of Eros, beyond words, finding expression in nsigns and forms.Those who venture inti these paintings are thrown into the ambiguity of simultaneous adventures. It is the artist's world.
