ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The painting is abstract and like all my paintings, evolves on the canvas. It has a strong central image, it seems to me, and the title reflects my reaction to that image. The viewer is entitled, of course, to receive the image as s/he sees fit! My work is painterly, that is to say it has areas of pronounced brushmarks and, ridges in impasto as well as smooth patches. This is intentional and reflects and responds to light in different ways and from different angles.

I was born in 1948 in Balham, S.London.I was a lecturer in FE from 1978 - 2008; now I'm a full-time artist.
I do acrylics, watercolour and oil pastel on heavy duty watercolour paper and canvas and use rollers,scrapers and scissors to get textures.
