In this collection ‘Morocco’ Charlotte-Aimee makes paintings rich with saturated colour, geometric patterning, and bold strokes. Views of sun drenched still life arrangements and urban landscapes. Dialogue in both modernist art historical movements romanticism and realism in which the emotion of the artist and perception is confronted by real life. Images are sourced from personal experiences rendered into vivid explorations that celebrate the rich artistic heritage of Morocco and the Moroccan way of living. Charlotte-Aimee was born in New Zealand in 1994 and migrated to Australia in 2019. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from the University of Canterbury Ilam school of Fine Arts in 2017. Charlotte-Aimee is an oil painter using paint thickly applied with brush to capture landscapes, interiors and still life. She has participated in a number of solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia and New Zealand and her work is included in international private collections.
