About The Artwork

Expressionalistically painted nude female figure sitting on the floor slightly bending forwards, supporting her body with her arm. The female figure is in shades of earthy-pink and white. The background is a dark shade of earthy-pink mixed with black and white. Mixing the black and white into the pink directly from the tube while on the board lends it a transparent and three-dimensional look with some light coming through behind the figure. This is the second of three little oil on gessoed card board studies of the same model at the art academy in Düsseldorf. I have prepared the gesso myself in accordance with the old masters. In this series I am exploring the color plate of pink, black and white.

Painting and photography were always part of my being. it is time now to present and publish my art. Born in Germany, growing up in Israel, and living in the US exposed me to a variety of cultures and ides that are translated into a visual form.My first painting mentor was Gershon Knispel in Haifa, Israel, then Michael Irmer in Düsseldorf. I am interested in exploring new challenges.
