This painting is about the graceful flowing of people through the city. A zebra crossing is the ultimate metaphor for the rules and regulations of our well-oiled society. It is because of these rules that our lives are running smoothly. Streetscapes or cityscapes are a recurring theme in my artwork. With my paintings I try to capture the interactions and movement of every day life in the city. I like to observe urban nature and its passers-by from unusual perspectives and try to visualize the anonymity of the masses as well as the rare and precious moments of true contact, connection and intimacy. Oil on Belgian linen, stretched on a sturdy wooden frame and ready to hang. Certificate of Authenticity included.
