ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting came as the third in a series of special object studies in large, light, abstract and air-filled spaces. The monarchs were a particular interest with all the attention they are getting lately about habitat preservation and their migration patterns and numbers, and the forget-me-nots are a special spring flower with a color of blue that complements the idea of a light summer sky. This painting, like its counterparts in the series, evokes a sense of calm, relaxation, and contemplation.
