ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Jo lives at the foot of this spectacular mountain, it was made famous by Cezanne who painted many images of it. He would paint it from different vantage points and at different times of day to capture the changing light and colours. Jo would pass this scene whilst out cycling and kept going back until the lavender was in full bloom to take a photo of this image to work from. She tries to depict the shadows of the mountain and also of the lavender with exaggerated depth of colour. Enjoy the smell of the lavender and hear the bees buzzing!
