Oil on canvas painting Irises flowers, semi- abstract botanical painting . Morning irises. Irises series, 2020 Dimensions: 20x23.6x0.77 inch approx ( 50x60x2 cm) In this artwork I sought to capture the magical moments when the sun shines through lush greenery after a quick and warm summer rain. I employed an impressionistic approach to blend realism with a touch of the ethereal to show Irises in the soft rays of the morning sun. In this painting I wanted to draw the viewer’s attention to the tenderness and fragility of irises. To create this painting I used various range of techniques, mainly an old traditional glazing/sfumato (gained its popularity in 16th-17th century) and impressionistic impasto. This painting would look great in any home décor style. It is ready to hang, can be framed or hung without a frame - this painting is extended over the edges of the gallery wrapped canvas, is wired, signed and dated by me. Materials: professional grade oil paints, brushes, palette knife, gallery wrapped canvas, varnish Hand painted by me. Stretched. Varnished to protect from sunlight and dust.
