Motherly Love Painting

I started painting Nguni Cattle because I lived on a farm outside Pretoria and the day a small stud of 14 Nguni cows arrived on the farm I could not believe my eyes, I love wildlife and never gave cattle a thought as an art project, but the Nguni’s were much more than just cattle, they are almost magical and so beautiful. I started spending a lot of time with them and started photographing this amazing animal. i learned many wise things from them and also noticed each one has a different personality and character. This cow has a strong and self‐contained personality, no one ever messes with her and she is always in the front of the herd. She is the quiet leader. Nguni cattle has very strong motherly instincts and when amongst them, you see and experience the love.
