My art reflects my world and captures the often-conflicting expanse of human emotions, including shared experiences of pain and love. Through oil paintings on canvas, street art, and film photography, I transform negative experiences into celebratory artworks. I make art so that our collective stories do not go untold.

Ingrid Yuzly Mathurin, a first-generation Haitian American artist, has nurtured a profound love for the arts since an early age, blossoming into a visionary who fearlessly shares her distinctive perspective through captivating and thought-provoking creations. Ingrid's artistic influences are diverse, spanning from the Harlem Renaissance era to the expressive forms found in 80s and 90s graffiti and hip-hop culture, as well as the transformative power of the civil rights movement. Through her work, she aims to shed light on the often-overlooked experiences and perspectives of young black individuals, challenging negative stereotypes and celebrating their resilience. Through her artistic journey, Ingrid has honed her skills in utilizing a vibrant color palette, employing symbolic elements, and crafting intricate compositions. Her talent and dedication have led her to pursue studies at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, specializing in fashion design. Ingrid feels deeply grateful for the opportunity to have her artwork showcased at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Museum of Art in South Africa. This humbling experience served as a reminder of her unwavering commitment to the pursuit of artistic excellence. In addition to her individual pursuits, Ingrid has collaborated with renowned organizations, including the creation of cover art for Colin Kaepernick's nonprofit "Know Your Rights Camp." She has also worked alongside Senator Jon Ossoff and Branded Arts, using art campaigns and murals to combat voter suppression and advocate for equal voting rights in Atlanta, GA. Notably, Ingrid's largest artwork to date is a 52-feet mural commissioned by Adult Swim, and she recently collaborated with NFL Films for former NBA legend Vince Carter's ESPN show "Vince's Places." Ingrid recently held a solo exhibition in Los Angeles, California at Sovern LA, which will run until the fall of 2023. She has also been honored with The Other Art Fair's 2022 New Futures award by Saatchi Art. She recently participated in the Los Angeles Lakers In the Paint Program group exhibition. While inspiring youth and uplifting emerging artists of color remain her true passion, Ingrid delves deeper into her works to address pressing social and cultural issues. Through her art, she seeks to bring attention to the experiences of marginalized communities, fostering a space for meaningful dialogue and reflection.
