My name is Andrii Safo, I am an artist from Ukraine. I graduated from the Kharkiv State Art College, Department of Sculpture. After graduation, I lived and worked in Crimea. But in 2014, everything changed. When the Russians occupied Crimea, I realized that I could not live in conditions where freedom was disappearing, where I was forced to remain silent. Staying there meant betraying my principles, my country, and myself. That's why I made a difficult but the only right decision - to leave the peninsula, leaving behind my home, my usual life, my favorite places. For me it is important not just to paint but to tell a story. The story of what home is, what freedom is, what it means to stay true to yourself, even when you have to start from scratch. I paint my pictures in the style of realism with a touch of emotional color.
