About The Artwork

Conceptually, I was inspired by Marcel Broodthaers' "Section Publicité du Musée d'Art Moderne, Département des Aigles" installation (1972), which consists of a collection of eagle images. Formally, I was also inspired by Peter Paul Rubens' painting "Prometheus Bound," among other works. The study for this work was conducted using Artificial Intelligence, specifically through Stable Diffusion, which is a website used for creating images using AI. I hope that viewers will gain an understanding of the narratives of "artists who have created their own museums," such as Marcel Duchamp's "Boîte-en-valise," Robert Filliou's "galerie légitime," Marcel Broodthaers' "Musée d'Art Moderne, Département des Aigles," and Davis Lisboa's "The Davis Museum." These paintings are all part of "The Paintings Section From Davis Museum," which is divided into categories such as "portraits," "still lifes," and "classical mythology." I chose oil on canvas as a technique for my paintings due to its versatility and historical significance in the art world. I used high-quality materials and a square format for the paintings to reflect the cube shape of the Davis Museum."
