I was born in Los Angeles, but now I am living in the Bay Area. I loved art my whole life. I am good with oil paint, acrylic paint, charcoal, color pencils, post-it paint, graphite pencils, and oil pastel. My artistic interests have been centered around capturing what’s around me in my daily life, showing people the little things they overlook and in that moment of seeing the unnoticed realized through art, they feel a sense of discovery in the mundane. For many years I have been drawing many paintings about our neighborhood, still life, abstractions, geographics, and landscapes. My goal is to open viewers' minds and draw imagination of hidden treasure in everyday life. Everybody has life experiences different from others, and there is no such thing as better or worse than other experiences. As an artist, I would like to motivate viewers to notice the value of mundane life objects and scenes. My art-making practice has been more like an adventurous impressionist rather than a realist painter. Often I get inspiration from my past experiences such as my trips or books I enjoyed. I use mundane everyday objects around me, but I add my own interpretation through abstraction to make things slightly different from what is shown to my eyes. This makes viewers think about my art pieces, and try to draw their own imagination. Sometimes, I intentionally draw the objects with warm colors for the cold objects and simplify the distracting details to represent positive values. Some viewers may feel weird for the colors, tones, and facial expressions, but it gives them opportunities to notice the values that are hidden to our eyes.
