My name is Hugo Palomares Fava. I am a Spanish painter originally from Italy. Since I was a child, I’ve been visiting museums from all around the world, I always loved listening to classical music and, above all, to paint. I’ve always painted for myself, as a way of escape, and it is only at that point that I‘ve been able to find myself and pure happiness. Two years ago, a friend of mine told me to upload my pictures to facebook, and the response has been very pleasant. Thanks to that I’m starting to move into the world of art. My CV is not so wide, since I’ve just started. But the interest that my work is awakening at this time, makes me think clearly about one of my greatest goals, which is China. I’ve always liked the oriental culture, despite my predilection for the Japanese (I think that it’s more sophisticated than the Chinese), a few years ago when I got my nickname (Shui Mao, which means “water cat” in Chinese), I opted for the Chinese because I believe that China, along with India, will be one of the biggest references of this century. The Chinese dragon against the Indian elephant. My masters master is Remo Gaibazzi: , a little known Italian painter, but very important though. This man, in his last period, worked hard on instant and the act during the instant, composing his pictures by writing the word lavoro (work, in Italian). After having visited lots of museums during my childhood, I don’t know why I was so impressed with his particular methodology, and so I began to imitate him. I immediately assimilated that method to my conscience, and I created my own style. I was born between music and painting, and what I do now, after twenty years of training, is painting music. The way to do it is to create a base of color and, just as if it were a score, I write that music.
