About The Artwork

The very romantic and suggestive portrait of a young girl was painted with pigments from nature. The portrait belongs to a series of paintings created during a symposium on the theme of chance. Technique: various earth tones, natural charcoal and berries on canvas The focus of my work is man as an individual, in search of his own identity. My figures are melancholic, thoughtful, absorbed in themselves. What fascinates me most is the face with its expression and charisma. For me, the realistic representation of the exterior of the person is not in the foreground, but the look inside. Especially in my portraits I work until I can feel the person in the picture. Therefore, it is advantageous for me to paint people I know. My expressive representation is made possible with rough strokes.

I live as a freelance artist in Munich and come from the Czech Republic. I completed my studies at a Graphic school in Prague. The focus of my work is portraits and figurative painting. The central point is the human being as an individual, in search of his own identity. My figures are melancholic, pensive, absorbed in themselves. I am most fascinated by large-format portrait painting, the face with its expression and charisma and the exploration of my own self. For me, the realistic representation of the exterior of the person is not in the foreground, but the look inside. Especially in my portraits I work until I can feel the person in the painting. My expressive representation is done with rough strokes, sometimes supplemented by drawing. Recently, I also work a lot with the collage, which basically works as a continuation and extension of my strokes.
