The New Orleans river boat is part of the Hobbs of Henley fleet - a long-established Henley-on-Thames company, owned by the same family for five generations. It is based on a Mississippi sternwheeler, and is one of a kind on the upper Thames. The New Orleans can be rented for parties and other river events - I hired it for my 60th birthday and invited 60 guests to the event. A few winters ago I was walking into town through the snow when the boat glided silently past. Fortunately I had my camera and snapped a few shots, which I based this painting on. This painting is framed in a gold-coloured wooden frame, with an off-white cardboard mount, behind glass. Framed the painting measures 16"x13"x0.5". Unframed it is 10.5"x8".
