Just as every religion attributes the gift of life to a superior and inaccessible entity, so health, from a state of nature, becomes a prerogative bestowed through a prodigious pill or injection, a new baptism which opens the way to salvation and integrates the individual in caste. Contemporary man, already shunned by the responsibilities deriving from respect for the environment in which he lives, is thus also relieved of the responsibility to preserve his own health. The drug is no longer associated with the actual and overt state of absence of health, but with the hypothesis of the same. In confessional terms, an attempt is being made to impose a baptism/martyrdom in order to be admitted to this new religion, nipping in the bud heresies of any kind, stigmatized a priori as idolatries of possessed unbelievers to be repressed by any means. But heresy, as Socrates already taught, means choice, and choice can only be the daughter of freedom and knowledge. Art, in turn, is the highest manifestation of these values and the artists, heralds who shout the torments of conscience to the deepest emotions, cannot remain silent or, even worse, align themselves with the silence of the choice. Chopin composed his nocturnes, Foscolo his verses, Picasso his Guernica. On Whitman's suggestion, with this work I try to trace the verse to express my contribution to what makes life truly worth living and which no one can be forced to give up: the freedom to be.

No.Not just the same place and date list. I've never been a number. To tell the truth, I don't mind avoiding any scheme - or I'd better say labelling - except for that of man, which is also my target. Together with freedom. And it wasn't easy freeing my thoughts.I had to face my fears, and turn my weaknesses into strenght.I took off the sacred clothes with which I desguised my ingnorance and my awareness of death as divinity.I kept in hope the dreams of a child too early shipwrecked into reality.I left the shadow of a cloud which I loved as an orchid and I dragged - as a new Sisyphus - the burden of my sorrow climbing my youth.I followed the prints of the animal inside me, and I listened to the seasons' singing and their turning over.I moulded the weapons to conquer my choice on my own.I chose to be: numbers are for those who want to have.
