about men feeling comfortable with jewelry. like when Cortez came to Aztec lands and people here wore all sorts of things in their head. men and most women too, have lost that playfulness that sense of theatrical persona that we could see in old illustrations, like El tesoro de la Juventud, for example. I wish we could go to a way of dressing that is not uniformed but that brings all the historical accesories combined.

I am interested in experimenting with sincretic images that capture the whole range of religious experiences. I am inspired by the architecture and mural paintings of the Aztecs, Mayan, Zapotecan and other peoples from America and I like to intersect them with the aesthetics brought to America by the Spanish, like virgins, saints and holy beings. I intersect them with a third paradigm which is my personal journey into Indian philosophies and the idea of enlightenment. The result shows where I am now, believing that art is the way, and being an artist is my religion. I am an atheist, after years of searching. I am Mexican, after two migrations.
