Edinburgh. Scotland's Capital City. Home of Scottish Parliament and seat of the Scottish Monarchy. Birthplace of Harry Potter (the novels not the actual character). Grew up in Detroit, spent 18 years in Columbus, Ohio, lived abroad outside London, UK, and now live in the metro Chicago area. Always drawing, I learned to paint in high school with a focus in watercolor. With a landscape architecture degree from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Capital University, I put my abilities to work in designing and constructing golf courses and countless gardens. Eventually I transitioned into creating marketing campaigns for a major US insurance carrier. I began painting again a few years back to help encourage my children’s creativity. When my family was given the opportunity to move outside London, I decided it was time to take my work public. My work is inspired by my experiences. More importantly, I am trying to share those experiences through my work. While in receiving my Landscape Architecture degree, I learned to design using the genius loci, or spirit of place. I want that spirit to come out in my art. The choice of subjects is based on a passion for my interests. I work in many different mediums and styles. I love the challenge of trying something new, which is reflected in the diversity of work.
