This image is created in a substrate called Yupo, an environmentally friendly, ph balanced, and recycled tear free waterproof paper. Highly pigmented inks and metallic pigment come together to create a striking flow of color and subtle texture. This piece comes unframed & sealed with multiple layers of UV filtering to help preserve its beauty. The blue-green colors speak to the captivating sea & the deep rusts and browns of the earth at its core. Flowing throughout is the green stone of the ancients, turquoise. It represents wisdom, tranquility, protection, good fortune, and hope. Woven throughout are browns, rusts, and gold giving the viewer a sense of grounding, endurance, and strength. My process at its core draws from ideas of letting go, allowing, and remaining open to an uncontrolled ‘happening’. My hope is that my creations will allow this in you; a letting go, a moment of stepping into self, stepping into the experience in front of you. I use ink in my process because of its fluid nature. It’s symbolic of this process of letting go and allowing. Ink has movement like our earths resources of water and sky. Flowing, weaving, moving to create unique moments of beauty and inspiration.
