ABOUT THE ARTWORK

his light, colorful and semi-abstract watercolor catches what means lightness and beauty to me! Sometimes life is so difficult and stressful that we need some lightness and beauty in it. Thankfully in painting I can make the world as I want it to be! The profit of this painting goes completely to Ukraine to support their fight for freedom and democracy. 41x31 cm, W&N/DS watercolors and hand mixed gouache on professional Arches 300g watercolor paper. Comes unframed, the frames and mats shown are just examples. You can have a mat size 40x50 cm with it so that the painting is ready for any standard 40x50 cm frame. If you want that, contact me. Signed on the front and back with Certificate of Authenticity. (c) 2022 Gesa Reuter, all rights reserved

Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
