One of the mexican deep-rooted traditions is that one that takes place on november 2, “Dead´s day”. In this painting I´ve represented “The death” as a mexican character dressed up with one of the many regional costumes typical of Michoacan´s state, who takes in her arms a bouquet of “zempasúchitl” flowers, a beautiful kind of flower that is used in Mexico to decorate the deceased altars. In the background I´ve tried to simbolize the souls of those who in that date come back to this world to coexist with the family and friends that remenber them lovingly.
