Edith Auclair was born in Montreal on August 25, 1976 where she resided for many years. She presently lives in Brossard. Because she always enjoyed art and drawing, Edith pursued a number of college-level classes throughout her life including drawing, art history, and the interpretation of colour in the arts. She uses some of this learned knowledge along with her intuition to bring an emotional quality to her work through her colours. Edith works primarily in oil but has also experimented with several mediums such as ink, pastel, charcoal and acrylic Edith's first solo exhibition was at the Galerie du Plateau in Montreal during the summer of 2012. It was during this event that she decided to pursue a serious career as an artist. Edith likes to work in layers. The state of each layer inspires and directs her further until the work evolves to its completion. Her other influences include: print media, pop culture, artists, and fashion.
