ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This oil painting represents a typical 'mas'( traditional Provencal farmhouse) surrounded by cypresses and pine trees. In the background are the Alpilles, a mountain range composed of arid limestone peaks separated by dry valleys. I realised this work on a linen canvas in october and november 2016 in an impressionist style using painting knives, brushes and extrafine oil pigments. In it I tried to convey the quiet and luminous atmosphere of this typical Provencal scenery. As studies I used watercolors I had made in-situ near the village of Eygalières the year before. This oil painting is ready to hang. The sides are painted black for presentation. (On request it can be sold framed.)
