ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Size: Approx. 102x76cm Description: This landscape is part of the artist's ground-breaking "Metamorphoses" series, depicting a contemporary view on the famous painting "Ophelia" by Sir John Everett Millais, completed in 1852 and currently held at the Tate Britain. The picture shows Ophelia, a character from William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, singing before she drowns in a river in Denmark. Materials: The painting was done using only museum-level materials. As a noteworthy mention, the surface has an incredibly rich and varied texture, providing for a very striking visual appeal and a never-ending change in the way light bounces back from its surface.
