In this collection, the artist explores the possible connections implied by doors. From past to present to future; from here to there; from us to others and to our inner self. Whether we stand in front of a door, sit on its steps, or close it behind us, it shows we have decided to start our journey and prepare to embrace the change. The doors depicted here were common features of houses throughout the Anatolian landscape whilst the artist was growing up. In fact, a door could tell a lot about the household. Was it a well-off family, how many people lived there, was there a recent event of pride and joy or one of great misfortune? The doors revealed it all, but only if you knew how to knock on it correctly. Therefore, in creating this collection, she wanted to show her appreciation and pay some sort of tribute to those times.
