I was inspired to create this painting out of a need to explore the intense feelings of grief I experienced after my parents passed away, such as feelin...

I am a professional female artist who creates abstract expressionist oil paintings. My works are inspired by my imagination, personal experiences, emotions, and visions. I have been making art since childhood. Born and raised in New York City, I was exposed to art at a young age. My mom took me to many Museums and galleries, and I took art lessons at The Metropolitan Museum of Art as a child. I also took art lessons at The Fashion Institute of Technology, (FIT) as a tennager in the early 1990's. In 1999, I recieved my Bachelor's degree in Art from Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY. In 2000, I moved to New Mexico, pursuing my dream of living in the Southwest. I took a semester of Graduate Level Art Education classes at The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, but left the University deciding to go in another direction. I recieved my Master's Degree in Counseling in 2005 from Southwestern College in Santa fe, New Mexico. As a licensed therapist, and later on, a licensed School Counselor as well, I often used art with young students who were less verbal. I continued to work as a counselor until 2022, when I retired due to being disabled. I now spend my time making art, being out in nature, and spending time with my family and our four dogs. Throughout my life, I have not stopped creating, as being an artist is an integral part of who I am. My works reflect universal emotions, the human experience, nature, and the spiritual realm. Making art has always been my means of expressing what I cannot put into words. The process of creating is just as important to me as the finished work. My mood, my emotions and memories, as well as what environments I am in greatly influence my creativity. I have had more than several pieces in group exhibitions, online, and in the gallery. What is most important to me though, is creating for myself. I have my own style, and it has evolved over the years. I also really enjoy getting out of my comfort zone, trying new ideas and different forms of composition. I do hope that viewers will enjoy and connect with my works. Please feel free to inquire about my listed pieces. Many can be framed, if they are not already.
