About The Artwork
Oysters are a symbol of abundance, wealth and luxury. They also symbolize sensuality, temptation and the pleasures of the flesh. My intention in this painting is to celebrate the enjoyment of life but also raise the awareness that nothing is permanent. The juicy oysters are arranged beautifully in platter as if it is served in a dinner party to welcome people to enjoy them. But the party will be over, so does beauty will be decayed.

"My work explores the beauty of still life from objects and things around my life. I am inspired by the classical still life paintings especially from the Dutch and Flemish masters. My work often incorporates symbolic objects depicting the beauty of stillness, memory and transience. My concept is to create “Beauty” through the use of colour and composition that provokes thoughts on cultures, philosophies, place and time. Much of my work uses balanced composition with a sense of tranquillity. I am also inspired by the beauty of nature and flowers are one of my favourite subjects to paint. My painting style is realism and I paint predominantly in oil using traditional technique."
