Art Description

Painting: Oil, Gesso on Wood.

Painting: Oil, Conte on Wood.

The most important part of my work is the process. I apply rabbit glue as a base for the plywood framed panel and then layer 8 to 10 times in opposite directions with Media Creta ( rabbit glue, calcium carbonate, titanium white, linseed oil and water ) to get a sanded smooth surface where the oil runs in a very sumptuous way.I came upon this preparation while researching XVI Century artistic techniques.

The desired goal is to transmit a lightweight depth sensation.
I hope to awaken personal emotions hidden beneath the surface.
My work originally departed from my architectural background, drawing me towards a focus on the depth that can be achieved through the lightest of layers superimposed on others creating an entirely new meaning that varies depending on each observer's perspective.

This particular work is a polyptych in which each part is attached to the other with bolts and has a frame of natural wood.
