Supernumeraray rainbow - Hyaline Boom! As it bursts, the colors appear “seug" In a vague place, there is a rainbow smaller than fuzz. (2018) Jiwon choi tries to experience a whole moment, even though not perfect, through painting. On a screen, she puts colors and brush marks at an adequate place to form a shape. This process is called 'The imagination of the rise of supernumerary rainbow and its explosion'. The supernumerary rainbow, which describes a situation of multiple rainbows rising at the same time, occurs only when the size of all the raindrops are the same and smaller than usual. Then, a sunlight is reflected inside the raindrops and creates colors of a rainbow. Whereabouts of the colors in the screen are at such exquisite spots. She believes in the situation after the explosion of the supernumerary rainbow. She records the air like a hyaline mirror and the experience of the clear present through painting. ----------- Creating a drawing with spontaneous excitement makes me feel alive. It could be thought to be 'having a psychological meal'. Such drawings lead to contemplation. Thoughts in a word form disappear immediately, whereas thoughts in our mind have infinite depth and area. Therefore, the figure from fingertip is more specific and can create things that even I didn’t figure out before. I stay alive through ‘Having a Psychological meal’ and make a voice of the next step. The voice after impromptu drawing is more inquiry-oriented. I frequently recognize that I misunderstood observation objects when I stare at them for a long time. I express things that I strongly felt and desired among many other impressions in the environment, as the object and I are just placed on the passing time line.
