ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Nathalie Lemaître was interested in this passage entirely devoted to Art and overlooked by a glass dome. She surveyed it for several days until she encountered the magical moment: that of the perfect luminous impact. She was inspired by it to project her own resonances. An unusual Paris teased by its ghosts. Between museum stroll and cabinet of curiosities. Built for the most part in the 19th century, these galleries pierced in the middle of buildings and surmounted by glass roofs do exist. The multitude of details that the artist has been able to capture or invent creates an additional maze in the secrecy of these passages. A meticulous observation will make it possible to discover other canvases in the canvas, like so many visions superimposed in the yarrow of the stories that constitute us.

I come from a family of Flemish painters. When I was little, I was taught to paint the light. But I already needed to tear up pieces of magazine paper to put together kind of imaginary puzzles that I covered with paint, like an interior landscape, like buried stories that I couldn't tell otherwise. I always did that, all the time. Painting is for me both a game and a language. I paint like one makes music.
