"Passageway" /dyptych/ Painting

This painting is a part of the new project dedicated to symbols and their power of influence. I strive to transfer fascination of the primitive and of the mystery of mysticism in my work. I like to put together the unspoken with the strength of pictogram, therefore paintings gained some duality: they contain spaciousness and depth alongside flat, purposely unfinished forms of shellfish and fossils. Strong red accents break the brown, green and everything enveloping black. This is a story about the mystery of existence. Story about the road we travel, certain stages when we look for guidance and clues, signs that we intuitively follow – especially in times of change and inner transformation. Grasshopper symbolizes joy, dance, music, creativity, but most of all big steps or big jumps. It encourages us to put our reasoning away for some time and follow new impulses that appear in our range. It's appearance foretell that we can conquer the incoming stages on our path in just a few large leaps. Changes that we've been preparing ourselves for a long time, every step that we've made in recent time, even the smallest one, which often required a lot of effort and courage, was in fact a sort of training that had prepared us for the breakthrough. It shows us that everything we've been doing so far prepared us for this moment, that it had it's meaning and gave us power to go for the big leap. However, Grasshopper's shadow side indicates irresponsibility, lack of gratitude and having little to no respect for the abundance. This has to be considered in order for one to maintain balance .
