The inspiration for "Passiflora" came from my time living in Istanbul. I first encountered this unique flower in the garden of our hosts, initially mistaking it for a common weed. As I learned more, I discovered its medicinal properties and its use as a calming tea, which fascinated me. The flower's intricate beauty and dual-purpose nature as both a medicinal plant and a fruit-bearing species deeply inspired me. I hope viewers will feel a sense of wonder and tranquility when they see "Passiflora." The vibrant, detailed depiction of the flower aims to highlight its unique beauty and evoke curiosity about its medicinal and culinary uses. I want viewers to appreciate the delicate balance of nature and feel a connection to the calming qualities of this remarkable plant. I chose a mixed medium of oil and watercolor pencils to create a striking contrast and focus on the flower itself. This combination allows me to emphasize the intricate details and vibrant colors of the Passiflora. The subject matter—a beautiful and unique flower with rich history and uses—captures my fascination with nature's complexity. My Impressionist style brings a contemporary touch, making the piece both modern and timeless. The unframed presentation offers versatility for personal display, adding a touch of elegance and intrigue to any space.

Viktoriia is a visual artist living and working in Kyiv, Ukraine. Instagram: .art Viktoriia Slavinska: I was born in Brovary, Ukraine in 1979. In 2005, I graduated from the Kyiv University of Technology and Design. However, I began my career as an artist in 2009, and have been working in the creative profession for over 15 years. From 2010 to 2020, I worked as a drawing teacher for children and adults at art studios. Because of the war, I had to leave Ukraine in 2022. But in 2023, I returned to Ukraine and continue to work here despite the challenging wartime conditions. I paint urban landscapes on the theme of Istanbul, infusing my works with meaning through the use of symbols and colors. I created illustrations for two metaphorical decks used by psychologists. I also created a series of paintings called "Mandala 13," "Istanbul's Tree," "Lady and Cat," and "City Walk." I have had two solo exhibitions and have taken part in over 20 different fairs and festivals with my works and workshops, creating over 350 pieces. You can find my paintings in private collections in Ukraine, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey, the United States, Australia, and others.
