This lovely small oil painting is part of my small still life series capturing various symbolic oblects in art. Lemon is a symbol of fidelity, wealth and luxury. It also signify disappointment as pretty to look at but sour/bitter to taste. I love how the yellow of the lemon contrasts with the blue pattern background. It creates a dramatic look to this painting. Oil on canvas board. Comes with complimentary black ornate frame as seen in sample photos. Ready to stand on a table, shelf or cupboard etc.

"My work explores the beauty of still life from objects and things around my life. I am inspired by the classical still life paintings especially from the Dutch and Flemish masters. My work often incorporates symbolic objects depicting the beauty of stillness, memory and transience. My concept is to create “Beauty” through the use of colour and composition that provokes thoughts on cultures, philosophies, place and time. Much of my work uses balanced composition with a sense of tranquillity. I am also inspired by the beauty of nature and flowers are one of my favourite subjects to paint. My painting style is realism and I paint predominantly in oil using traditional technique."
