Born in South Korea and now based in Seoul, Eury's art reflects her personal odyssey of language barriers and cultural shifts, evolving into profound means of expression. Among the flowers appearing in the work, there are many works based on 'peony' shown in the new work. The artist himself learned and grew up in the Anglo-American world, but he was very interested and influenced by Korean painting and Joseon Dynasty painting. Among them, I worked on a new work inspired by a representative peony (Bugwido) among those that read the allegorical meaning of objects and applied them to paintings. Peony flowers are called rich flowers because of their excellent shape, as they are called the king of flowers. By applying rich flowers in their own way, they included "Mi-India" and "Bugwido," which are seen during the day and night, in a single piece, and they included the vomiting stories of the moon rabbit, which was like a story in a fairy tale, as well as the full moon and the moon rabbit. For the artist, who was born and raised in Korea until the age of 13 and spent his childhood in Korea and lived in Australia for a long time, Korean elements, folk paintings, Korean paintings, and Joseon paintings were mysterious, and the historical products of roots gave him great inspiration.
