I admire ancient civilizations, architecture and works of art. The subject here is the ancient city of Pergamon. Pergamon is the name of the ancient city established in the place of the center of Bergama district of İzmir province today. Pergamon was one of the important centers of the Misya region in ancient times. It was also the capital of the Pergamon Kingdom between 282-133 BC. The name Pergamon comes from Pergamos, a mythical hero. It is thought that Pergamos captured the city after killing the king of Teuthrania and named it after himself. According to another legend, Grynos, King of Teuthrania, asked Pergamos for help in the war, and after the victory, he had two cities founded and named the one Pergamon in his honor and the other Gryneion. Pergamon is mentioned for the first time in written documents at the beginning of the 4th century BC. The city later became the capital of the Pergamon Kingdom. In this period, buildings such as palaces, temples and theaters were built, and the city was surrounded by towers and walls. Pergamon remained one of the few cities of Western Anatolia after the kingdom was annexed to Rome. The ruins of the old city were discovered by German engineer Carl Humann, who was working on railroad laying in Western Anatolia in the 1870s. The first research and excavation works in Pergamon were started in 1878. Excavations and repair works continue today. I graduated from Istanbul Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Textile. In my business life, I turned to fashion design. In this regard, I worked as a designer and creative director in domestic and international clothing companies. In my professional life, I worked with watercolor, charcoal technique and various software especially in my designs. I am still working on painting by combining my academic education with my long years of designer experience. Ancient civilizations, cities, nature and abstract subjects, which are among the historical riches of our country, occupy an important place in my watercolor and charcoal painting works. The details, together with the general harmony in the compositions, attract my attention and are effective in my works. With these works, I took part in various exhibitions and organizations. After the annoying pandemic process that affects us all, participation in these organizations and exhibitions is starting again professionally.
